Boilermakers for the Arts

Welcome back, Purdue students! Boiler Gold Rush has begun, which means it's almost time for classes to start. For both new and older students, it is the perfect time to think about joining an organization and getting more involved in campus life, particularly in the arts. Purdue has a wide range of clubs and organizations that focus in on music, fine art, dance, and more!

Below are clubs listed from A-Z that are arts and culture based organizations on Purdue's campus.

Art History Student Organization

The Purdue University Art History Student Organization's mission is simple: we strive to offer students as well as the community an institution where education and personal enjoyment combine to celebrate the arts.

AHSO is made up of students who are interested in art history; membership is not restricted to art history majors, in fact, we encourage students in any area to participate in our organization. The organization presents a film and video series, organizes trips to museums, galleries and lecture events, and brings guest speakers to the department for the benefit of students and faculty. Students are urged to participate in the student organizations because they provide an excellent opportunity to gain broadening experiences, including leadership positions.

Indian Dance Club

The Purdue Indian Dance Club started out as a group of friends who danced for fun about 10 years ago. Soon, what they did for fun became something they brought onto stage and was loved and appreciated by everyone on campus. PIDC is a group that brings together people who love to dance and want to show that passion in them on stage. We do not compete, instead we perform. Hence, our time commitment is very low and very flexible to everyones busy schedules. We incorporate a number of different styles of dancing such as classical dance, hip hop, contemprary, bollywood and much more. We want to continue the PIDC legacy and make friends as well as family along the way! No earlier dance experience is required. We are here to teach you, learn from you and have a great time. If you like to dance or want to help out in any way, or just want to have some fun, then please don't hesitate to contact us. The more the merrier!

Please don't hesitate to contact us at pidcdance@gmail.com or on 765-586-5211 for more information!

While the Photo Club has recently adopted a large focus on digital rather than film photography, our club facilities still include a fully functioning darkroom and studio, as well as an office and materials library located in the basement of the Purdue Memorial Union.
Finally, the club is open to anyone affiliated with Purdue University, whether they be student, staff, or otherwise. We encourage you to show up for any of our meetings to see what we’re all about!
