A Night of Spooky Tales



Get in the Halloween spirit and bring the whole family to hear spooky tales at the Tippecanoe Amphitheatre! Be ready for tales of witches , wizards, murders, and mayhem!

A Tribute to Glen Miller and the “Modernaires” 



Purdue’s American Music Repertory Ensemble and Lab Band will remember Glen Miller and the “Modernaires” 70 years after his disappearance over the English Channel during World War II. The concert will feature such hits as Blues in the Night, Chattanooga Choo Choo, I Hear You Screamin’ and many others.

See "Shared Harmony," an upcoming show from the Lafayette Ballet Company and Purdue Philharmonic Orchestra that explores the music and dance of the early 1900s.

Bach Chorale's 50th Anniversary Concert

Friday

The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra Film Screening : Moulin Rouge



Join LSO's Prelude Project to watch a special viewing of Moulin Rouge this evening at 7 pm!


Snuggle into the theatrical yet cozy setting of the Long Center's St. John Pavilion, enjoy a festive spread of wine and refreshments, and watch the film inspired by the LSO's upcoming performance of La Traviata!

The evening will also include VIP access to meet the Musicians of the LSO and the stars of the Kentucky Opera.

The LSO invites anyone ages 21-49 to join them for this unique experience! A donation of $10 at the door is suggested.

One Size Fits All Improv



One Size Fits All Improv will perform a live comedy show at Lafayette Brewing Company at 9 pm. The audience will suggest topics for scenes and songs that will be performed by the comediathletes, and perhaps some volunteers will join them on stage, too!

 The show is for audiences age 21 and over. Tickets are $8 per person and $15 per couple.


Saving Abel

Check out a post-grunge act that comes to Lafayette's newest venue, The Hideaway Bar & Grill, Friday night at 9 p.m. The show costs $10.

The Lafayette Symphony Orchestra presents Verdi's La

Rob Dixon Performs at Carnahan Hall




Carnahan Hall presents Jazz Musician, Rob Dixon! Rob has worked with a number of well known artists such as The Count Basie Orchestra, Tony Bennett, Dakota Stanton, The Ellington Band, The Illinois Jacquet Big Band, Jonah Hones, Rufus Reid, Akira Tana, Slide Hampton, Ray Charles, The Maria Schneider Orchestra and The Smithsonian Master Works Jazz Orchestra. In 2002, Rob moved back to Indianapolis where he worked with a number of organizations, such as The Cleveland Heritage Jazz Orchestra.

The performance begins at 2:45 pm at Carnahan Hall! A Q&A session will follow the concert.

Haan Mansion Museum Art Exhibit Opening Reception 



The Frankfort Library presents the 14th Annual Exhibit from the collection of the Haan Mansion Museum of Indiana Art courtesy of Bob and Ellie Haan. There will be an opening reception and gallery talk with Bob and Ellie Haan. There will also be a book signing with Rachel Berenson Perry. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Feast of the Hunters' Moon




















The Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a re-creation of the annual fall gathering of the French and Native Americans which took place at Fort Ouiatenon, a fur-trading outpost in the mid - 1700s. It is held annually in early autumn on the banks of the Wabash River, four miles southwest of West Lafayette, Indiana.

Thousands of participants re-enact this event creating a feast for your senses. Smell the wood smoke, hear the report of the rifles, savor authentic food, and more!

Trail of Scarecrows



Come and see the 5th Annual Trail of Scarecrows at Prophetstown State Park from Oct 4 - Nov 9! View creative scarecrows designed by community organizations, businesses, and clubs. Scarecrows will be located along the park's paved bicycle trail & after you've viewed them all you can participate in a 'penny' vote at the Visitor Center to support your favorite (funds benefit park programs). Programs are free of charge & open to the public after paying the park admission fee of $6/carload (in-state) or $8/carload (out of state).

Purdue Symphony Presents "Postcards from Around the World"

The Purdue Symphony and Philharmonic Orchestras present "Postcards from Around the World"! The concert will feature violin soloist Marcia Henry Liebenow from the Peoria Symphony Orchestra. She will perform Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 and Ralph Vaughn Williams’ The Lark Ascending. The orchestras will also be performing the Princess Leia Theme from Star Wars, Otto Nicolai’s Merry Wives of Windsor Overture, and Hector Villalobos’ Bachianas Brasilieras No. 4.

Purdue Wind Ensemble presents "World Cup of Music"
















The Purdue Wind Ensemble and Fall Concert Band will perform music from around the world in its "World Cup of Music" concert on Sunday! The concert will feature selections written by Alfred Reed, Richard Strauss, Julie Giroux, Robert Russell Bennett, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and John Philip Sousa. The concert will take the audience on a multiple media walk through fascinating musical cultures!
