June is Bustin' Out All Over...with ART! : Performing Arts

The show runs from June 18-22 and June 25-29.
Performances will be every evening at 8:00 pm and Sundays at 2:00 pm

Annie Warbucks

Myer's Dinner Theatre
Hillsboro, IN




Running now at Myers Dinner Theatre is Annie Warbucks, the sequel to the classic musical, Annie. Join the group on Christmas Day as Daddy Warbucks (Mark Tumey, Noblesville) looks to adopt the loveable orphan, Annie (Alivia Williams, Crawfordsville). In order to do this, he must be married. Will he marry his beloved secretary, Grace Ferrell (Bailey Williams, Danville, IL) or will someone else step in to mess things up? Follow the connivance of women fighting over the right to marry a millionaire and heartache when the orphan girl in question runs away in fear and shame. Can this turn out to be a happy ending for Annie and Daddy Warbucks? This show runs through June 21st. There are matinees on Wednesdays and Saturdays (meal at noon) and evening performances on Fridays and Saturdays (meal at 6:30 p.m.). Doctor Dolittle

The Vanity Theatre
Crawfordsville, IN


The Sugarcreek Youth Players present Doctor Dolittle! Doctor Dolittle's love of animals and extraordinary ability to talk to them will turn the Vanity's stage into a combination of a zoo and a doctor's office, a circus and overseas to Africa.  This comedy about the good doctor and his animal friends was dramatized by Olga Fricker and is based on the beloved book by Hugh Lofting.  Performances are June 13th-15th. Friday and Saturday shows are at 7:30 and Sunday shows are at 2 pm. Tickets cost $12.00 for adults and $8.00 for children.

S.I.N.G.S. Magnificent Memories


What was your favorite memory of summer vacation? Splashing in the pool? Going fishing? Cruising to the Bahamas? Every summer, and every concert brings memories to keep for a lifetime. Magnificent Memories is a concert which will be sure to add a moment or two which you can carry along throughout the rest of summer!

The performance will be held June 21st, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Sunnyside Middle School.
Tickets for adults are $9.00 and tickets for students/children are $4.00.

Lafayette Symphony Orchestra



Howling Mozart After Hours!

Wolf Park is collaborating with the Lafayette Symphony Orchestra for a special outdoor performance! The LSO is being represented by a string quartet which will perform the music of Mozart and other classical favorites. Will the wolves 'sing' along? You will have to be here to find out! We will also offer our usual Howl Night program! Come for the whole night, or just a little while. There is something for everyone at this special evening's event. Bring along your own chairs or blankets! The concert will be held June 14th at 7:30 pm at Wolf Park. Tickets for adults are $8 and tickets for children are $6. Children 5 and under are free!
Lafayette Citizens’ Band





Lafayette Citizens Band is a 50 piece concert band in Lafayette, Indiana. They play traditional concert band literature and marches, patriotic music, and popular music from several recent  decades. Concerts are free and open to the public. Bring a lawn chair, a picnic basket, and friends to Riehle Plaza. Concerts start at 7:30pm every Thursday evening.

The Good Mad Charity Concert



The Good Mad is an LA based alternative folk trio. Allie Gonino, Adam Brooks, and Andy Fischer-Price have been playing music together since 2010, and formed The Good Mad in the summer of 2011. Their sound is a blend of folk instrumentation, with Gonino often playing violin, along with entrancing three-part harmonies, and poetic lyrics. The Good Mad has had their music placed in TV shows such as ABC Family's "The Lying Game", and upcoming films such as 'See You in Valhalla. The concert will be held June 14th at 5:30 at Fowler Hall inside of Stewart Center at Purdue University. Tickets cost $5.00. For more information, click here.

Dulcimer Gatherings




Dulcimer Gathering meets for a musical jam each Tuesday, June through August, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Centennial Park, 6th and Brown Streets, Lafayette, IN. All acoustic instrumentalists and listeners are welcomed. The gatherings are free. In case of rain, the jam moves to Trinity Education Building, 6th and North Streets.

Indiana Fiddler’s Gathering




Attend the 42nd Annual Indiana Fiddler’s Gathering at Battle Ground, Indiana in Tippecanoe County! Concerts will be held June 27-29.

The Taste of Tippecanoe




Come savor the flavor as the 2014 TASTE will feature dozens of bands, over 35 restaurants and more fun than you can pack in one evening. It's the biggest party of the year and it's ALL good! Taste of Tippecanoe is sanctioned by the Tippecanoe Arts Federation, a non-profit organization, and is used as a fund-raising event to support the arts in Tippecanoe and surrounding counties.

Children 12 and under are free but must be accompanied by an adult.  Tickets are available online, at Pay Less Supermarkets, and at the Tippecanoe Arts Federation.

Med Flory Jazz and Blues Fest

Enjoy an evening of Jazz and Blues played on the banks of the Wabash river, Little Turtle Waterway in Logansport, Indiana. The festival will be held on June 14th from 3:00-12:00 pm. Tickets are $15 a piece or $25 for two adults. Those 20 and under may attend for $8, and children 6 and under are free. Advance tickets purchased at any Security Federal Savings Bank location also come with $5 worth of food tickets.

Sundown Summer Music Series



Each Sunday from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, local musical talent will perform for one hour at 7 p.m at the Little Turtle Waterway Plaza in Logansport, Indiana. These performances are informal and will usually be a single person sharing their talents with those who are interested in listening. The audience is welcome to bring their own lawn chairs, refreshments, cameras, blankets and family members. 
 Returning musicians lined up to play this summer include Jason McKeever, Tracy Boucher, Eric Rogers, Cyndi Fisher, Steve Michaels, Matt Barnett & Sparrow 5, Extended Family of Sarah & Pete Walthery and the BarnStar Sharks. New to the line-up this year is Stacey Kistler and Brandt Carmichael with Wrong Way.

Symphony in the Park

The Kokomo Symphony Orchestra and Satisfaction, the International Rolling Stones Show will offer a free concert on Saturday, June 28th at 8pm in Foster Park. Come rock to this award-winning show that the New York Examiner called “the best show of it’s kind. . . ever!”
For a real VIP experience, tables (which will be as close as possible to the action) are available for purchase. The VIP experience includes food and wine. The VIP experience is $300 for a table of 8.

Kokomo Park Band











The Kokomo Park Band will open its 2014 Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, June 11, at 8 p.m. in Highland Park. The free weekly concerts continue through July 30. Music ranges from Broadway hits to classical! Bring lawn chairs, friends, and munchies for an evening of fun in the park!

Film



Set in Motion is a one night screening featuring contemporary video art and experimental short films hosted by Purdue University’s Fountain Gallery in Lafayette, IN. Artists will explore how motion, time, repetition and narrative can change the way we see art. With video capabilities becoming part of our everyday lives, artists are encouraged to challenge the medium – and question our reality. The event will be held June 20th with 6:30 and 7:30 screenings. Dance

Camelot Dance Club

Camelot Dance Club holds its monthly ballroom dance on the fourth Sunday of the month at Duncan Hall. There is a one-hour ballroom dance lesson starting at 6:30 pm, and the dance is from 7:30 - 10 pm. Admission is $10 per person or $5 for students and includes the lesson and the dance.
